PROMOTING GENDER EQUALITY : Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges
Empowering our conference
Beyond window dressing :
from "don't leave anyone behind" to "bring everyone along"
We had the privilege to attend the 88th session of the Convention of Elimination of All forms of discrimination against women, also known as CEDAW, at the United Nations in Geneva.
During our time there, we seized the opportunity to engage in discussions with experts, diplomats and Swiss politicians.
Since returning to Canada, our objective has been to share this knowledge while leveraging our professional backgrounds within the business and military sectors.
About CEDAW
What is CEDAW?
The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) was adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1979. The committee seeks to combat the effects of discrimination, such as violence, poverty, lack of services, denial of inheritance, property rights and more. Out of all the international treaties, CEDAW has the most reservations, meaning that countries have expressed resistance to some articles. As of May 2024, 189 members ratified.
